Suits applicants with leadership potential, strong sense of public service, and physical fitness. Accepts multiple academic paths — degree preferred but HKDSE Level 3 acceptable.

PI selection is the most comprehensive among disciplined services — 4 stages over ~16 weeks. The Extended Interview's 4 components (Impromptu Talk + Group Discussion + Management Exercise + Leadership Exercise) all combine into a total EI mark; candidates achieving a satisfactory aggregate proceed.
